Dad played golf with Rick this afternoon. Rick is a member at the Mosman Park Golf Club and so Dad had to wear a shirt with a collar which is a bit more dressed up than he usually is for golf. Afterwards Mum and I met Dad at Cottesloe and we had a fish and chip dinner on the grass by Cottesloe Beach. Mum fed me while I sat on the picnic blanket. I was very interested in all the galahs which were sitting and screeching in the big pine trees near us.

Do you know any 1 year old boys who can whistle? I can! I sometimes do it as I’m crawling along swinging my head from side to side just enjoying my journey. If Mum or Dad hear me whistling and do it too, I usually join in with them and whistle some more!

This evening Dad moved my cot and change table around in my bedroom because after my afternoon sleep Mum noticed that I had unplugged my monitor from the power point next to my cot. All I needed was a sharp instrument to poke in those little holes! As well as this, Mum had come in to my room after my afternoon sleep a few days ago to find me standing in my cot pointing at the ceiling fan which was whizzing around on high speed, courtesy of my little fingers which had turned the knob! Also within reach of my cot was the dimmer switch for the light in my bedroom and one evening Mum and Dad came to check on me before they went to bed and instead of the dim light they normally leave on, I was asleep with the light turned up bright! But now all these interesting things are out of the reach of my cot and I am only supposed to use it for sleeping!

This morning we went to my cousin Claudia’s 2nd birthday party. It was held at a really nice playground at Cottesloe. There was pastries and a coffee van for the adults and slides and swings and an animal farm for us littlies! There was a little horse that some children had rides on, but what us little ones liked was the smaller animals which got wrapped up in tea towels so that we could hold, or in my case just watch them. Mum had a guinea pig, a rabbit with floppy ears and then a little chick which she held for me to look at. I have to admit, I wasn’t super impressed with any of them but I did crawl over to the enclosure to watch the medium sized animals like the baby goats, lambs and piglets in their pen.

Claudia had an amazing birthday cake which Auntie Kate had spent half the night making, it was like a white castle with turrets and pretty colours (smarties) all over it. I had a little taste of my Dad’s piece of cake and then it was time for a big swing. After that I was spent and I fell asleep in the car on the way home.

Today at lunchtime, Nanna came to look after me while Mum went to toddler group. The strange thing is, it’s a toddler group where you can’t take toddlers! Its on over the next 4 weeks and Mum is going to learn more about some of the challenges that I will be encountering in my next year or so! I was good for Nanna, I ate my lunch nicely and then showed Nanna how I play with my various toys.

This evening at tooth brushing time, Mum noticed 2 new teeth! My 7th tooth is coming through on the bottom, front right and my 8th tooth is a back left molar on the bottom. All I need now is one above it and I’ll be ready for a good steak!

Tonight Uncle Alan came to collect Molly. She has been staying with us for 10 days and luckily we didn’t need to take her to the vet this time! She has had a few more snacks than usual, courtesy of me throwing food from my highchair but she always seems to appreciate that! She loves to lick my face and that bothers my Mum alot more than it bothers me! I like to follow Molly about and then sit close to her when she’s lying down. Sometimes I think she just wants to lie quietly but that doesn't stop me sitting close and bouncing up and down or touching her. During Molly's stay, Mum has spent alot of time saying "No Molly, down from the table", "No Molly, put that toy down" and things like that. But what I learnt was that I could point at Molly and say "dog"!

This morning Dad left early to watch the Superbowl at Rick’s house instead of going to work. After my morning sleep, Mum took me to the Ultrasound clinic and Dad was there too! We were all there for a 19 week scan to check out the baby in Mum’s tummy. We could see a shape on the screen but it seemed to be asleep with its arm across its face so we couldn’t see very clearly what it looks like. It was all a bit grey and blurry on the screen, so I soon got down onto the floor and I roamed about and made my ‘exorcist’ noises which kept everyone amused!

Today Molly came to stay with us. She is a dog that normally lives at my cousin Claudia's house but they have gone away to Rottnest for 10 days so Molly is going to stay with us. She has stayed here before, but this time I can chase her! Mum and Dad have to say "No!" to her alot, I think she must be a bit naughty. Mum's dilemma today was that she was chasing Molly and telling her off for chewing and puncturing one of my coloured balls, when she looked around to see me splashing my hands in Molly's water bowl. Mum let Molly go (so she chewed a second ball) and came to rescue me from the dog bowl first... It could be a fun 10 days!

This morning, when I woke up from my sleep the red car was gone and there was a red and yellow tunnel in its place! Mum had been to the Toy Library again! I soon got over the car not being around and the tunnel is now positioned so that I can crawl through it on my way to my highchair in the dining room! There are bits that move on the side of it too, so sometimes I get distracted on my way through and have a play instead.

This afternoon, Mum went to yoga. Dad bought her a subscription for Christmas and she started going to the classes last week. The Womens yoga class is on a Saturday afternoon and Mum said that about ¾ of the other ladies who go also have babies inside their tummies.

Mum and I visited Nanna for lunch today. Mum took my lunch of ham, cheese, avocado on bread and my new favourite food chickpeas! I ate it up nicely and then Nanna gave me some rockmelon too. Afterwards I was roaming the spacious floor area of Nanna’s place, turning off and on my favourite powerpoint switch as usual… but then I decided that the stairs provided more of a challenge. This is the first time that I have encountered stairs since I started crawling but with Mum behind me to stop me falling backwards, I confidently made my way all the way upstairs to Nanna’s bedroom. I developed a good technique and just kept going although I got a bit tired near the top when I wondered if the challenge would ever end!

Today we started back at swimming lessons, I am now up to level 3! We got to the pool in plenty of time and I crawled around on the floor and up to the edge of the pool and was very excited to see the previous class and what they were doing in the water. When it came time for our class at 1.30pm, no one else turned up so Mum and I had the whole pool to ourselves with Mally instructing from the side! I was very happy to be back in the water!
