It was 42 degrees today and Mum and I were out and about. First we went to a Mothers Group at the Shenton Park Child Health Centre. There were 15 Mums and babies squashed into a small room with an ancient noisy air conditioning unit, true to form I slept through it all!

Next we went to my cousin Claudia's first birthday party. By then I was ready for feeding and got to look up at the pretty blue and pink helium balloon as I was breastfeeding. Auntie Kate had gone to alot of trouble to make it a lovely party for us all although I was just pleased to be indoors out of the heat! The profiterole tower cake was also a winner although it looked hard work for Auntie Kate to carve it up for eating.

Mum and I had almost wilted by the time we got home. Mum fed me in my newly air conditioned bedroom and then I went to sleep. Mum did the same in her air conditioned bedroom. We found out that if you leave the bedroom doors open and close a few others, it is possible to cool the living area of the house considerably. It was still 40 degrees at 6pm and looks like being a warm night too, but we'll be sleeping like babies...
