Today was my first Baby Splash class. It was held in the Hydrotherapy pool at the SJOG hospital where I was born. My Mum and Dad took me, Mum held me in the pool while Dad took photos and video footage of me enjoying my pool time.
After all the little people had spent about 20 minutes in the water moving about to nursery rhymes sung by the Mums, they took us out of the water and dried us off. Some of the lucky ones like me got a quick breast feed and then we settled down in our prams and looked on (and then dozed off) as the Mums got into the pool for a more vigorous workout for another 45 minutes.
I've now discovered that in addition to the two fingers on my left hand, the thumb on my right hand can also be inserted into my mouth and used to comfort me. Unfortunately my fingers don't curl out the way and when they wiggle around in front of me they sometimes cause me to go cross-eyed. I'm getting quite talkative now, and short journeys in the car are quite entertaining for Mum because I keep up a running commentary. The hanging toys on my baby gym can't get away like they used to either. I can now fairly confidently get hold of them, my grasp can sometimes last a while since letting go is not always easy.
