Tonight instead of putting me to bed around 7pm, Mum and Dad put me in my pram and walked to a cafe in Wembley. It was a nice evening so they ate at a table outdoors and I slept in my pram next to their table. I don't mind the sound of cars because I go for walks regularly in the pram with Mum, but I don't usually go to sleep with the sound of cars whooshing past!

We left about lunchtime for the drive home. We stopped in Bunbury to see Yien and Mike again and I was fed there too. On the road again, there was a holdup in the traffic and since we could only drive slowly, the scenes outside the window weren't passing so quickly and I got a bit cranky. Mum had to keep reaching over the front seat to try and retrieve my dummy which I kept spitting in various directions. Eventually Dad stopped the car, moved my bassinet from the back seat to the front seat and then Mum sat next to me! I was much better then and Mum didn't get a sore neck from turning around to me.
We stopped in Mandurah on the way home for another feed for me and then for my Nanna and Poppa to hold me and fuss over me. Kate, Alan and Claudia were there too, they had all been to Dunsborough for the long weekend and were on their way home to Perth too. I was asleep in the car when we got back to Perth so Mum and Dad left me there under the big tree at the front of the house until I woke up. After my last feed, I went to bed in my bassinet which had magically arrived back from Busselton.

For lunch, the Mums and Dads ate burgers beside the beach followed by Simmo's icecreams. When we got home, Hilary, Sarina and Sam arrived from Perth. They brought Sam's dog Dudley, he's a very well trained dog who puts Molly to shame! Doodad (Russell and Karen's big grey cat with enormously long whiskers) wasn't impressed with the arrival of Dudley and made himself scarce during Dudley's stay.
The reason for all the visitors (including us) was to attend the matinee session of the play "Deadly Record" in which Russell was starring in the lead role at the Busselton Repertory Theatre. I spent the first half of the 4pm matinee on Sarina's knee and then being fed by Mum. I was in a very good mood and made a few little happy noises just to let everyone know. At half time we all had a breather, then Dad spent the second half in the entry hall (where he could still see the stage) pushing me in my pram, showing me my toys, pushing in my dummy, re-pushing in my dummy and anything else he could think of to keep me as quiet as possible. That's no mean feat when I'm in such a good mood and like to tell everyone who will listen. I didn't know it was a murder mystery, I just thought there were some quiet moments which needed to be filled!
The adults all ordered Thai takeaway for dinner. From my bed in Karen's study I could smell the nice food and hear the conversation as it got louder throughout the evening following the consumption of bottles of wine and later Jack Daniels!

Russell cooked up a yummy full English breakfast for the big people. After my sleep, we all went along the beach front to the Busselton Jetty. Amber and I were pushed in our prams while the Mums and Dads chatted amongst themselves. We went to a restaurant called The Goose for lunch, its on the beachfront right by the Busselton Jetty and we sat outdoors and enjoyed the seaside ambience.

Once we were on our way, we stopped for lunch by the Dawesville Cut in Mandurah where Mum fed me while Dad ate pies from the award winning Miami Bakehouse (then Mum scoffed hers down before we continued on our way.) Next stop was Bunbury, this was another pitstop for my benefit (afternoon tea for me) and to visit Yien, Mike, Jessica and Olivia. After I was fed and Yien had finished sniffing me (she loves the smell of babies!) we hit the road again for Busselton. We arrived around 6pm and I was soon fed (yes again) and for the first time ever, I was fed by three breasts! (This morning the clinic nurse had suggested to Mum that she feed me on one breast, then the other and then back to the first one to hopefully get me a shot of cream and to stimulate the production of more milk!) I knew none of this and went to bed pondering the appearance of a third breast and wondering how Mum had kept it hidden for so long!

This week, the Martins across the street are away. Charlie (the corgi) is staying elsewhere but each day Mum and I go across to feed Cinnamon the fluffy dark tortoise-shell coloured cat and the two birds (weiros). There was a standoff in the street today between Cinnamon and Simba, the black and white cat from next door. Cinnamon won when Simba ran away, back home across the street.

This evening Mum bathed me while Dad was cooking Green Chicken Curry for dinner. When she had finished, she laid me on a towel in the lounge for Dad to massage me with moisturiser whilst Mum videoed the action. (Whilst I rather enjoy the pampering, the lack of privacy is of some concern!)
Dad rolled me onto my tummy to massage my back and then I caught everyone by surprise by raising my right leg and rolling onto my side. This wasn't a technique I had been practicing (in fact I didn't know what rolling was) although it seemed to work well. Its nice that my first roll was captured on video however next time I will try to be brave and not cry when it happens!

When Dad got home from work, we all went for a walk and took Charlie the corgi dog who lives with the Martins across the road. They have gone away for the weekend so we will be walking Charlie each day. I think Dad was a bit embarrassed to be walking such a small dog, and he made jokes about Charlie's legs and needing a skateboard for its tummy etc. From where I was sitting in my pram, I thought Charlie's little butt wiggling from side to side as she trotted was quite cute!

Today we went to lunch at Nanna and Poppa's house in North Perth. It may be our last family meal there because they have sold it and are moving out in 2 weeks. Everyone ate at the table in the front courtyard, I lay under my baby gym inside the front door, my cousin Claudia was everywhere now that she can walk and Molly the dog was shut in the bathroom so that she didn't lick me!

After all the little people had spent about 20 minutes in the water moving about to nursery rhymes sung by the Mums, they took us out of the water and dried us off. Some of the lucky ones like me got a quick breast feed and then we settled down in our prams and looked on (and then dozed off) as the Mums got into the pool for a more vigorous workout for another 45 minutes.
I've now discovered that in addition to the two fingers on my left hand, the thumb on my right hand can also be inserted into my mouth and used to comfort me. Unfortunately my fingers don't curl out the way and when they wiggle around in front of me they sometimes cause me to go cross-eyed. I'm getting quite talkative now, and short journeys in the car are quite entertaining for Mum because I keep up a running commentary. The hanging toys on my baby gym can't get away like they used to either. I can now fairly confidently get hold of them, my grasp can sometimes last a while since letting go is not always easy.

Sorry I haven’t contributed for a few days, but I have been very busy discovering my hands. In fact I have two of them, each with five fingers and toes which I have examined very closely. I now know that my hands can be used to pick up my toys, hold Mum or Dad’s finger when extended to me or to hit Mum’s breast when the milk flow slows.
Today Mum took me into the big tall building where she used to work. We went into a little tiny room with a mirror and the doors closed behind us. Mum pressed a button marked 15 and when the doors opened again the whole room looked different. There were lots of people sitting at desks and when we came out to see them, they all gathered around and wanted to talk to us and pick me up out of my pram. It was an exhausting time but I came through it OK. I only raised my voice a couple of times which caused all the rest of the people with their heads down to look over at us with a queried “Is there a baby in the office?” expression on their faces. Lots of people asked my Mum when she was coming back to work but she said she is enjoying being at home with me at the moment.
